Supercard Guide

How to use the patcher program

First, a little background. Supercard is used to play legal backups, homebrew software, and music/movies. You can use the Supercard series on GBA or DS. The Supercard Rumble series can ONLY be used on the DS.

With that out of the way, please make sure you have the latest Supercard patcher and firmware installed on your Supercard. For the latest software, please visit http://eng.supercard.cn

Click the Supercard icon on your desktop, and once the software loads you should see a screen like this:

Supercard Guide Screen 1

To add software to the list, click the ADD button, located in the bottom left-hand corner.

Supercard Guide Screen 2

Select the file that you wish to add by browsing to it. Double click the file, or single click and click “Open” to add it to the list of files to be patched for Supercard usage.

Once you have added all the files you want to the list, right click each one and click on “Properties.”

Here you can set some options. For the most part, you can keep everything disabled and your software will work fine, but if you’d like to tweak some of the settings then feel free to. Its not required, but sometimes it helps.

“Enable Restart” allows you to soft-reset your games, meaning you don’t have to shut it off each time you want to play another game. When in game, press L+R+A+B+X+Y to soft-reset your game.

“Enable Trim ROM” basically removes any excess data from the ROMs, so it helps save you some space on your media card.

“Faster Game Play” may not work with all games, but it allows the game to boot up a few seconds quicker than the standard way.

“IQue” should always be unchecked, as that is an option that only works on certain Chinese DS’s (called the IQue DS).

“Enable DMA” - not sure what this is, will update when I find out!

“Enable GBA Union” - some games, like Castlevania, can read GBA saves when using official games. This option allows ROMs to read other ROM saves if the game supports it (most don’t)

“Enable patch Cartridge access” - again, not sure what this is, but I keep it at the highest compatibility.

“Enable Rumble” is only available for Supercard Rumble series, and also sometimes requires a patch to be used.

Click OK whenever you are done, and if you’d like to tweak other games do so now. Once everything is tweaked, proceed to the next step.

Supercard Guide Screen 4

There are two tabs at the top of this patcher program - you have been working with the “Game List” tab. Click on “Options” tab once you are ready to write the games to your media card. Set the Path to your media card and you can tweak the rest if needed, but it works fine if you don’t. Once you are done with this, click the “Game List” tab and then click “Out”

Now wait for a few minutes while the software is written to your media card. Unfortunately there is not a progress bar like the M3 game manager has, but what can you do :P

Once its finished, you will see a pop up box that says “Complete” - click OK and you can now close the patcher program. Take your media card out of the card reader and place it into your Supercard and enjoy!
